Luton started brightly when Livi Robinson
got forward, took the ball around a defender and shot firmly
from an angle. The goalkeeper could not hold onto it, but
no-one could capitalise and Bushey scrambled it away. Yasmin
Hickling then spun her marker on the left, squared the ball
to Lauren Bruton, who tricked her way past a defender, cut
the ball across the face where the keeper went in bravely
to deny Jasmine Hall. Eventually, the break came when a goal-kick
went straight to Yasmin, who volleyed the ball first-time
into Lauren's path, who in-turn chipped the last defender,
ran onto her own pass and scored with a low shot. 1-0. Soon
after, Livi threaded a pass through to Lauren, who knocked
it past a helpless defender, but this time the keeper done
well to block the shot. Then Jasmine was released down the
right, she took it around the full-back and delivered a teasing
cross into the six-yard box, where Lauren, alert as ever,
got in front of the keeper to divert the ball home. 2-0. Alice
O'Shea then decided to go on a diagonal run, she passed to
Chloe Barnes who quickly came under pressure, but she then
passed out to Robyn Wilfort on the left and her shot was well-blocked
by the keeper. Then Yasmin was at the heart of a good move,
as she released Lauren, who just failed to convert after good
defensive work by the visitors.
Half-time
Bushey came out after the break with a new belief
and the Belles had to be on their guard to subdue them. Lauren
Bilston made one particularly impressive tackle as she covered
a surging attack down the right. Bushey were trying hard to
get themselves back in the game at this point, but they were
vulnerable to Luton's counter-attack. An explosive run by
Lauren Bruton down the left very nearly resulted in a scoring
opportunity. Yasmin then got on the end of a pass, ran into
the penalty-box and an unleashed a powerful drive which the
keeper just managed to parry around the post. Danielle Carty
was then introduced on the right and almost immediately delivered
a good cross into thebox, which Jasmine volleyed wide. Alice
then delivered a good corner from the left and Lauren flicked
the ball with the outside of her boot, just wide of the upright.
Then Luton put together some lovely approach play involving
Kirsty McIntosh, Robyn and Jasmine that cut open Bushey's
defence and resulted in Robyn smacking a rebound against the
post, before the loose ball fell to Alice, who thundered in
a low drive from 25 yards out inside the goalkeeper's near
post. 3-0. Jade McEntaggart and Robyn then linked cleverly
down the left to once again pierce the visitors defence as
the Belles continued to play attractive flowing football.
Then a brilliant piece of individual skill by Lauren Bruton
created the fourth goal. With the ball being shepherded out
of play not far from the half-way line, Lauren accelerated
past the defender, stopped the ball, nudged it past her marker
through the tightest of gaps, sprinted down the line and then
squared the ball to Livi, who had got forward in support.
Livi skipped past a challenger just inside the box and her
well-placed diagonal shot found the far corner of the net.
4-0.
So Belles continue their winning sequence with
an accomplished performance that included four good goals.
