Club History
1997/98
Our First Ever Trophy. May 1998 "Kempston Fives" Under 12 Winners
(Standing) Rebecca Clark. (In Front) Stacey Connell, Emma Ellis, Nicole Emmanuel, Nikki Baker
Early in 1997 a small number of girls begun training with the AFC Luton Under 10 boys squads. Word soon spread and in no time the first Belles squad had begun to form. Open girls training sessions were held in May 1997, and the vast majority of what was our Under 15 squad during the 2000/01 season were already together. The skill level and dedication was inspirational and there for all to see even at that early stage. A team was entered into the now defunct Bedfordshire Girls League for the 1997/98 season. The league was small in size but by seasons end the girls were Under 12 and Under 14 League Champions as well as League Cup Winners. The highlight and climax to that first season was the Under 12 League Cup Final which saw The Belles come from behind to beat Markyate 6-2 after extra time. Just prior to the end of that season The Belles won their first ever trophy when they picked up the Kempston "Fives" Under 12 trophy.
